Blackbutt board sizes we supply

Why 135 x 21, not 135 x 19

Blackbutt is the one species in our range whose wide board is 21 mm thick rather than 19 mm. That is the actual milled dimension, and it is stated that way on the product, on the specification sheet and in the pricing. It matters when Blackbutt is being matched to an existing deck or laid alongside another species, because a 21 mm board and a 19 mm board are not the same thickness. Confirm the detail against your own build before ordering.

Finish and rating

Supplier documentation publishes a BAL 29 bushfire rating for Blackbutt under AS 3959-2009, and the species' consistent texture takes oils and finishes well. Anything to do with coating schedules and upkeep is covered in the finishing and maintenance guide.

Ordering by the linear metre

All three sizes are priced per linear metre. Work out how many metres you need from the board width plus the gap between boards, using the timber calculator. Random lengths are supplied, and preferred individual lengths can be requested by quote.

Before you choose Blackbutt
