90x19 mm Jambu Mixed decking is a standard grade hardwood decking board in dark grey-brown to medium brown tones, sometimes with a pinkish hue, and natural board-to-board variation. The supplier specification sheet publishes Class 2 above-ground natural durability, with durable heartwood that is resistant to termites.

Jambu Mixed suits decking, fencing, gates and general outdoor work where a strong, stable hardwood at a practical price point is wanted. It is not part of our Australian hardwood range and never carries our Class 1 badge.

Sold per linear metre in random lengths. Preferred lengths and bulk quantities are quoted against current supplier availability. Add your linear metres to the cart, or request a quote for project volumes.

Calculating for: 90x19 Jambu Mixed Decking

Calculator mode
Area to linear metres

Supplied in random lengths, so there is no length to choose: order the total linear metres you need.

Enter your measurements and select Calculate to see an estimate.

How this is calculated

Cover width (m) = (board width + gap) ÷ 1000

Linear metres required = area ÷ cover width

Linear metres with wastage = linear metres × (1 + wastage ÷ 100)

Reverse: estimated coverage area = linear metres × cover width

Estimates only. Confirm final quantities against your measured plans and the product's actual cover width before ordering.

Guidance

Working with this timber

Technical profile

From the supplier specification sheet: Jambu has Janka hardness of 1,253 kgf at 12% moisture content, density of 685 to 990 kg/m3, strength group B (Burgess classification) / SG2 (MS 544: Part 2: 2001) and low shrinkage (tangential 2.6%, radial 1.6%). Durable heartwood is termite resistant; natural durability is Class 2 above ground.

Applications

Decking, fencing, screening and gates.

Installation

  • Store boards flat, fully supported and off the ground, and keep them dry before installation. Allow the timber to acclimatise at the site before fixing.
  • Fix with hot dipped galvanised or stainless steel screws, two per joist, pre-drilled and countersunk. Stainless steel fixings are recommended for coastal or poolside work.
  • 90 x 19 mm decking requires a minimum 4.5 mm ventilation gap between boards, with adequate ground clearance; the supplier installation guidelines under Documents and downloads set out clearances in detail.
  • Use sharp, quality cutting tools and seal cut ends with decking oil. Wear appropriate eye, ear and breathing protection when cutting.

Maintenance

  • Clean the surface before coating; an oxalic acid based timber cleaner removes dirt, grease and tannin stains.
  • Finish with a penetrating decking oil per the coating manufacturer's label, then re-coat on a regular cycle suited to exposure and traffic.
  • Monitor the coated timber for colour loss and dryness, and re-coat when it begins to look dry to maintain protection.
