A pack-opening fee is a flat $110 including GST per eligible product when you order less than that product's full-pack quantity. Only a few decking products carry it, and each of those product pages shows the fee under the price. The fee is not included in the online checkout total. We contact you to confirm any applicable fee and get your approval before payment for it is arranged and your order is processed.
Which products have a pack-opening fee
The fee applies only to products that show a pack-opening fee notice on their product page. At the time of writing they are:

No other product attracts this fee. That includes 90 x 42 Solid Merbau and all of our pine framing. Some pages, including our H3 treated pine, show a "Buy by the pack & save" box instead: that is an invitation to ask for full-pack pricing by quote, not a fee.
How the fee is worked out
- Per product, not per line. If the same product is in your cart on more than one line, the quantities are added together before the full-pack check. A product split over two lines never attracts two fees.
- Each eligible product is assessed separately. Two eligible products both below their full-pack quantity means two fees.
- At or above the full-pack quantity there is no fee for that product.

Why it is not added at checkout
Our online checkout does not add the fee. You see it in three places before you pay: under the price on the product page, under the product line in your cart, and in a cart summary that shows the online checkout total, the fee, and the order total if you approve the fee.
After you order, we contact you to confirm any applicable fee and ask for your approval. We do not charge the fee or add it to your order without that approval. If you do not approve it, you can cancel the affected order before it is processed and any amount you have paid for it is refunded in full. Alternatively, you can increase that product to its full-pack quantity, and no fee applies. The full wording is in our terms of service.
How to avoid the fee
- Order the full-pack quantity or more of that product. The full-pack figure is in the fee box on the product page.
- Ask for pack pricing. Prices shown online are for loose-length purchases; full-pack prices are given by quote and apply only once we confirm them in writing. Use request a quote, and see bulk and pallet orders for larger volumes.

FAQ
Is the pack-opening fee charged automatically?
No. It is not part of the online checkout total. We confirm it with you and get your approval before payment for it is arranged.
I have the same board on two cart lines. Do I pay twice?
No. Lines for the same product are added together, and the fee is assessed once for that product.
I am ordering two different products below their full packs. How much is the fee?
$110 including GST for each eligible product, so $220 including GST for two.
Does pine framing have a pack-opening fee?
No. None of our pine framing carries this fee.
Where do I find a product's full-pack quantity?
