90x45 mm Untreated Pine is the most common stud and general framing size used across internal, weather-protected building work: stud walls, noggings and general carpentry framing where the timber will remain dry and out of ground contact for the life of the structure.

Untreated pine has a short service life if exposed to the weather or ground, which is why this product is supplied specifically for internal, protected framing. Market listings at this size are predominantly MGP10 structural grade, the industry-standard stress grade for domestic house framing in Australia, milled from plantation-grown radiata pine.

Technical profile

From supplier documentation: untreated structural pine is machine graded MGP10 and tested to Australian Standards, milled from sustainably grown plantation timber. Untreated pine is for dry, protected internal use only.

Applications

Stud walls, internal partitions, noggings, blocking and general internal carpentry.

Installation
  • Store framing flat, fully supported and dry before use.
  • Machine graded structural pine is used in accordance with the relevant framing standards and project engineering; fix per standard framing practice.

Maintenance
  • Keep untreated pine dry and out of ground contact for the life of the structure.
  • Inspect exposed treated pine periodically and maintain surface coatings where used.
